Welcome to the website of the Berwick-upon-Tweed Borough Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership
I am pleased to introduce the Borough of Berwick-upon-Tweed Community Safety Website. We are fortunate that we live in one of the safest areas in England and Wales.
The aims of this site are to highlight:
- The work carried out by the Borough of Berwick-upon-Tweed Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership in maintaining this enviable position.
- To provide information that raises public awareness concerning local personal safety and crime prevention issues.
- To provide additional information that addresses factors, which affect the Fear of Crime, and allays those fears.
The Partnership was formed to meet the requirements of the Crime and Disorder Act, 1998 and advocates that local authorities and the Police should work in partnership to promote safer communities. Berwick Borough Council, Northumberland County Council and Northumbria Police are committed to working in partnership with a wide range of other agencies in other sectors and we will work together. This Website is another building block in the foundations of developing and promoting a safer community.
